The Vuurzoon family girlsFor this Rebricker of the Week article, we feature not one builder but a whole family of them! -Vuurzoon-  is made up of three generations of LEGO® fans from the Netherlands.

If you were to walk into the Vuurzoon family house, it would look very much like a building and testing center for LEGO bricks, with unfinished creations and bricks scattered everywhere.

“Together we created Animal World with many animal displays and a farm,” explains the Vuurzoon family. “It includes a cute squirrel that you can support on LEGO CUUSOO. The white duck and rat are robotic animals that interact as real animals.”

Most builds created by the Vuurzoon family are interactive, and with a personal motto of “Make it Move” one would expect no less.

“We love to design creations that actually work, like the Coffee Assistant,” writes the Vuurzoon family.  “That’s why many of our designs include LEGO Mindstorms and LEGO Technic.”

They also have a strong passion for music and dance, as seen by their Lego-player, which bares the appearance of an old gamma phone player and functions as a CD player, actually producing music. Their cheerleaders (pictured to the left), are self-balancing Minifiguire look-a-likes and dance to the beat of music.

“We like to share our passion with friends all over the world,” summaries the family. “We also support children to learn more about science and robotics, for instance during the First LEGO League.”

If you’re ever traveling in the Netherlands to a LEGO fan event, be sure to say hello to the Vuurzoon family. Or, if you can’t make it in person, check them out on YouTube, MOCpages, Lego CUUSOO, and of course, ReBrick.

Such an inspiring story!

Before the Vuurzoon family was on ReBrick, I re-bricked Anika's NXT-fied Friends RoboLab:

As you can see, it's a well built & well liked creation too :-)
