For Luap31, the world is a very small world. So small in fact, it’s about 1:48 to scale.

That’s because Luap31, our latest ReBrick’er of the Week, builds only in mirco scale.

The 21-year-old from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is studying to be an architect, so mirco scale building helps influence his creativity within the field.

Of course, it wasn’t always that way…

“Back in 2006 I built a house in normal [LEGO® Minifigure] scale,” he explains. “However I did not have enough white bricks for the exterior, so I decided to spray paint everything.

This turned out to be a very bad idea – after he finished the house, he had more white bricks than he knew what to do with. This made his building options quite limited, and he was devastated.

However, hope wasn’t lost yet…

“One day while reading a LEGO magazine I came across a micro scale skyline build, and thought to myself ‘hey I could do this,’” Paul goes on. “With just a small number of bricks I designed a football stadium and a few skyscrapers, and I loved it. Ever since then have I built in micro scale and never looked back.”

If you’re a fellow fan of mirco scale, be sure to check out Paul’s builds on MOCpages, Flickr, and his RSS feed.
